Interested in studying Coral Reef Ecology at the Great Barrier Reef? Or Biomechanics and business in the second largest city in Australia? When you study in Australia, you will have the chance to explore not only this beautiful country, but also a wide variety of different courses. Linfield students live with and take courses with Australian students and other international students, giving you the chance to fully immerse yourself in Australian culture, while continuing your academic pursuits.

    Students can choose to study at:

    • James Cook University: Townsville Campus, Cairns Campus
      • The coastal cities of Cairns and Townsville provide modern sporting, cultural, entertainment and shopping facilities and a relaxed lifestyle. Both are located close to the Great Barrier Reef, in tropical North Queensland. 
      • Northern Queensland makes the perfect base for outdoor recreational activities including rainforest hiking, mountain biking, snorkeling and scuba diving on the reef.
      • The Townsville Campus has around 13,000 students, while Cairnes has over 4,000 students. 
      • Both campuses boast a variety of field trips, student clubs and support associations. 
    • Deakin UniversityMelbourne Burwood CampusGeelong Waurn Ponds Campus, Geelong Waterfront Campus, Warrnambool Campus
      • All of Deakin's campuses are located in region of Victoria, in south-eastern Australia. Victoria has welcomed people from around the world. Some of the world's best beaches make Victoria the ultimate study and travel destination
      • The Deakin Welcome Program allows study abroad students to join Australian students for a three day excursion and explore the area. The welcome program could include surfing lessons, lawn bowling, AFL games and more. 
      • The Melbourne Burwood Campus, as well as the Geelong campuses, are between one and one and a half hours away from downtown Melbourne. The Warrnambool campus is approximately three hours away. 
      • The Melbourne and Geelong campuses are the largest campuses, with the most amenities, while the Warrnambool campus is set in a quintessential Australian beach-side town and features specialist studies in aquaculture and marine biology.

    • The academic year in Australia is the reverse of the USA. Available both spring and fall terms:
      • Early February to mid-June or
      • Early July to mid-November
  • Additional Requirements and Recommendations

    • Required minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • It is highly recommended that students take TCCA 230 (Intercultural Communication: Global Perspectives).
  • Housing

    • With many options, with or without meal plans, students apply for accommodation online and arrange payment with the University directly.
