Linfield’s semester abroad in Scotland is located at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

Founded in 1796 as 'A Place of Useful Learning', Strathclyde is a leading technological University with around 30,000 students from more than 140 nations. The campus is in the heart of Glasgow, one of the largest cities in the United Kingdom, and is just a one-hour flight from London.

  • Dates

    • Fall semester is offered from mid-September to early January with a 3-week winter break.
    • Spring semester runs from mid-January to mid-May with a 2-week spring break.

  • Additional Requirements and Recommendations

    • Minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
    • It is highly recommended that students take TCCA 230 (Intercultural Communication: Global Perspectives). Courses in European history, literature, and politics (such as Europe Since 1500, Comparative Politics, Modern England, the English Literature Survey courses, and Irish Literature) also provide excellent preparation.

  • Housing

    • There is good availability of accommodation within a 10 minute walk of the academic buildings. Options will depend on your semester of study.
    • Transportation around the city is available through buses, trains, scooters and bikes.
