Licensure Disclosures

Linfield University prepares students for success in a wide variety of fields. For information about jobs that Linfield students may pursue with our degrees, explore our program finder for the major/certificate in which you are interested.

Not all fields require professional licensure. The following list represents the programs Linfield University offers that can reasonably be expected to lead to a professional license. These programs have been developed to meet state licensure requirements.

Professional field of accounting

  • Degree or certification: Bachelor of Science (BS) in accounting; post-baccalaureate certificate in accounting
  • Additional information: School of Business
  • Oregon licensing body: Oregon Board of Accountancy
  • Licensing requirements: Linfield's accounting programs meet the curricular requirements as set out by the Board of Accountancy in these states. Click the link for additional requirements (such as total number of credit hours, hours of work experience, testing requirements, etc.).

Professional field of education

  • Degree or certification: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in education: preschool and elementary; preschool, elementary and middle school; middle school and high school
  • Additional information: Teaching licensure
  • Oregon licensing body: Teacher Standards and Practice Commission
  • Licensing requirements: Linfield's teaching programs meet the curricular requirements as set out by the state Board of Education in Oregon. Click the link to determine if your state permits Linfield's curriculum: Special Education Teaching Licensure

Professional field of nursing

  • Degree or certification: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s Entry Into Professional Nursing (MSN)
  • Oregon licensing body: Oregon State Board of Nursing
  • Licensing requirements: Linfield University's BSN and prelicensure MSN programs meet the state educational requirements for Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Oregon, Washington, California, Hawaii, Idaho, and Alaska. Linfield University has not determined whether the program meets the RN licensure requirements for other states, but can work with students applying for licensure in unlisted states. Please contact son@linfield.edu if you're applying for RN Licensure and have eligibility questions about an unlisted state. 

Professional field of project management

  • Degree or certification: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in project management
  • Additional information: Project management
  • Oregon licensing body: Project Management Institute (PMI)
