Meet Psychology Ambassador Caity Babcock ’25
Hi! My name is Caity.
I am a senior from Monterey, California and I came to Linfield immediately after high school and have grown to love it. I was drawn to Linfield initially for the beautiful campus and the women’s lacrosse team. Since attending Linfield, I have grown to love every professor I have interacted with and the overall community here at Linfield. There are friendly faces wherever you go!
I am a psychology major with a special interest in sport and exercise psychology. I chose this path because I am a big advocate for mental health, but wanted to focus my attention on helping raise awareness in athletics. I hope to have a career working with athletes on a variety of things relating to bettering their own mental health. When I first came to Linfield, I was afraid as I did not know anyone and was nervous with so many new faces. However, I felt right at home in the psychology department and was welcomed immediately by friendly peers and professors. The psychology department has been a main contributor to my love and success here at Linfield.
In my time outside of class, I enjoy taking my dog Jack to the dog park, watching the sunset, and hanging out with my teammates and friends. I have learned many skills while here at Linfield, and one has been learning to manage my time better. Between work, athletics, and academics, I struggled to have much of a social life at first. However, with time and the guidance of older peers and my advisors, I have been able to pursue my passions, work, keep up my athletic career, and still spend valuable time with my friends. Finding a community that supports you and relates to what you are experiencing is key, and I hope you can find a community like that within our psychology department.
